Blogger's Reaction to escape
What's surprising is that Singapore's supposingly top-notch police/ ISD forces have lost a frail, limping man inside their high-level security camp. Do remember that the ISD was the ones that detained/ tortured lots of Singaporeans who sang counter to the Offical Establishment's views back from the 1960s to the late 1980s.
That such a man can escape from these people suggests that our millions spent on defence and manpower are spent for naught. In European democractic models, the people in charge would have resigned.
But wait, this is Singapore. We follow Asian Values. The minister in charge is punished severely by increasing his salary this year. And the next year as well.
Before I end this post, let me just state that Singapore's version of Asian Values is all but correct. In the 3 Kingdoms, ministers do take flak for making mistakes.
The Premier Zhuge Liang was punished for using the wrong person, against the advice of the officers in the 1st Northern Campaign (which lead to Shu's defeat). His rank was reduced by 3 ranks (1 pin drop to 4 pin), although he was allowed to remain in charge of his duties.
Now, Zhuge Liang is the example to follow if our officers and ministers have his caliber. (Or Cao Cao's calibre)
If the officers/ ministers cannot be compared to such people, then they are usually severly punished, such as being sacked of the offical post. Some may even be banished away to desolate lands. So if you want to use Asian Values, you had better use them correctly, or you won't win over Abao here.

Extracted from SGPolitics:
Sylvia Lim: There were signs the 2 point GST hike was really not needed
The signs were there a year ago that the two-point hike in the Goods and Services Tax (GST) was not needed, NMP Sylvia Lim claimed. Back then, the Government’s own estimates had indicated it would have more than enough in its coffers to fund additional social spending, without having to raise the GST from 5 to 7 per cent.
Ms Lim reminded the House that her party had pointed out the projected increases in personal income tax and other revenue streams during last year’s Budget debate, and was criticised for doing so. Now, the record $6.45 billion Budget surplus has proven that the GST increase was ‘without compelling reasons’, she said.
By raising the GST, the Government has ‘compounded the inflation pressures on the people’, argued Ms Lim. Against a spike in prices of food, transport and other essentials, ‘adding on another 2 per cent on a higher base price has increased the cost of some items by more than 20 per cent’, she said.
Wages have not caught up with the rising cost of living, as ‘only very few people’s incomes have risen by 20 per cent since last year’. She urged the Government to also consider removing GST altogether on essential food items.
Mr Yeo Guat Kwang: Responded to Sylvia Lim’s GST comments by giving her a lesson on SALTED FISH
Sylvia Lim’s arguments reminded Mr Yeo Guat Kwang (Aljunied GRC) of a story by the classical Chinese philosopher Zhuang Zi. In the story, a fish in a shallow trench appeals to a passing scholar for help. The scholar tells the fish to wait while he fetches water from the sea.
‘By the time you come back, I will be a dried-up, preserved fish in the market,’ says the fish.
Now, said Mr Yeo, if the scholar were a People’s Action Party man, he would tell the fish: ‘I will give you a bit of water first, but come with me and I will show you how you can stand on your own.’
What about if Ms Lim met the fish, asked Mr Yeo Guat Kwang rhetorically.
He said that Ms Lim would probably say: ‘I have no water to give you, but I sympathise with you from the bottom of my heart. I will ask my government to give you all their water, and tell of your plight to the world.’
Concluded Mr Yeo: ‘Eventually the fish will still end up in the salted fish bin in the market.’
EDITOR’S NOTE: THIS is the one of the lamest retorts made by a PAP MP on Sylvia Lim’s GST comments.
It is a great insult for the Classics to be invoked, moreover completely out of context, as a "rebuke" to a well intentioned message from Ms Lim that the GST hike was unnecessary. Anyone who has knowledge (I dont, fyi. I only read Historical and Military Books) would have understood that this reply by Mr Yeo is 牛头不对马嘴...

The front was having difficulties fighting with the OKW when supplies from Comrade Crusader arrived at the battlefield.
War Materiel has arrived for us!
With these new equipment, our mighty army managed to hold the enemy at the outskirts of the capital.
Spanking new rifles, machineguns, vehicles, tanks and planes from QP-17
Glory to the Motherland!
A video clip of Tan Kah Kee, a great philantrophist of Singapore Chinese. We should watch and remember our founders.

Reading Janadas Devan's writings about the English is always a joy. Usually he tries to give a simple yet insightful approach to the origins of a particular word or phrase, or a authentic rebuke at a certain topic through careful use of words.
In today's editorial, he broached on the the usage of words how the great leaders/ contenders have used them, citing the US Democratic Candidates Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton's methods in using words, sentences and paragraphs in speeches.
And after citing examples of great orators and the qualities they possessed, he managed to bring our Country's mentor, aka Mr Lee Kuan Yew into the picture. He agrued (which I agreed) that Mr Lee was more of a effective communicator through the effective use of pragmatic statements and policies as an appeal as compared to inspiring speeches used by other politicians/ speakers common in the world.
Reading through it, I feel that he had wanted to touch on the subject of Pragmatism as compared to Idealism, but restrained himself from doing so and ended the essay quickly.
In a sense, if Singapore's focus had been on Idealism instead of Pragmatism when the parliament was formed backed in the fifties, things might had been very different now. It would have been a very different future, though whether the citizens would have been better off or not is not for me to judge objectively.
If you are a fan of CLANNAD, you would have known of this BGM named Tsuki no Isou (The phases of the moon). This version I'm putting up here is the ～memento～remix version, which is the one used in the アニメ version.

This month's Megami has Tama-chan as the cover page ^_^. But I hate that sticker that kinokuniya placed there... ... spoiled the asthetics of the cover... why cant they paste it on the wrapping instead? (=_=)
Nanaka ^_^. Yume is nice looking, but I'd prefer Nanaka. Notice that this month's Comp H and Megami's illustration of Da Capo II are better drawn... ... maybe a hint that the second season's graphics would be better?
Luckily, there's always the clean scan inside the magazine.
The meganeko here is Azuma, another of the girls in Bamboo Blade. Would have liked the scan better if she wasnt wearing specs.
Tsukasa and Kagamin
Mahou Shoujo Foxtail Kyou! Guess why she's depicted as a fox ^_^
Shana is... ... moe! Neko-mimi + Meido fuku :D
Megami had a TCG (Trading Card Game) Style of rating the Anime's special moment's for this issue. Maybe the Broccoli TCG sets will be announced if this is popular with the masses?
Shana, battle mode. Attack + 8. Shana, dorothy cosplay, Moe + 1 apparantly. I thought the cosplay suited her and should have been Moe + 3.
Henrietta, protecting her fratellio. Love + 5. Hmm justified. But the Anime's sub-par graphics really irks me... ... x_x
Megami also featured Ayakashi and some other shows like Mai Otome O~S.ifr~ but I lazy to talk about them.
More of To-Love-Ru. The main pic of Haruha looked like Tsukasa... ... something which should not happen. At least the Bikini shot and the face shot below looks correct, a la manga style.
CLANNAD was also featured, with the Kotomi arc as the main focus on this issue. The Kotomi arc was fine, but I am still sad with Kyou being shafted...
Kimikiss, with Sakino and Eriko. My attention is on the Yuumi x Koichi x Mao x wad's that guy's name ar? though.
Sister Princess DVD Box... Now I know of a friend who has this show. Maybe he likes 12 girls aged 10 calling him onichan. o_O
Looks like the Tetsudo Musume is steaming along at a high speed, as they release mini figurines for sale. The figurine looks bad though, imo, as compared to the art shown on the same page.
Fortune Arterial. Seems popular lately, with lots of coverage being given. If it doesn get turned into an Anime, I hope cabbage love wont get repeated.
Koharu Biyori's scan. Nice ribbons, LOL.
H2O ~Footprints in the Sand~
Nice pictures of girls. The art is impressive.
And CLANNAD the movie would be sold on March 7, 2008 ^_^. Means can get to watch it soon.
Now for lots of Nanoha-verse from here onwards.
This is the last Nanoha Book in Book that Megami would be publishing for the time being, discounting chances that there will be sequels. Sadly, I only have 2 of the volumes shown above, though I think I have all the scans ^_^
Compare and contrast the Nanoha and Nanoha A's armour and one would prefer the A's version.
This is a symbol of Nanoha, I would say.
This 2 would be symbolic of A's, I guess ^_^

This volume of Comptiq Heroine's features Konata x Tsukasa eating melonpan as the cover :) I still have Megami to cover and the book in book for Megami, so some of the pages got shafted by me (-_-) The blog might also take some time to load, so for those still on 56k, ごめんなさいね。
Apparently Da Capo II had an expansion game set to launch soon. I liked their character artworks... but the Anime had dissapointed me... here's hoping that season 2 of the Anime would be better.
And we have our 4 娘 here for the popular slice of life Anime of Kyoto Animation - Lucky Star. Kagamin, look some more and dont cry when your weight increased by another kilo, ね？
The 2 above are the seiyuus for the 2 "background" character of Lucky Star - Ayano and Misao. Too bad Kagamin is always with Konata (^_^), no time for other people in her circle.
And Hirano Aya now teaches you a recipe for baking brownies ^_^
Pastry Flour: 240grams
Baking Powder: 1 teaspoon
Saltless Butter: 140grams
White Sugar: 140grams
Vanillin Essence: Sparingly
The rest I lazy to go read and reason them out but should be quite easy to figure out, especially if you have a copy of Comp H and Aya-chan is there as a guide :D
moe... ... ... guess where I'm looking at... ... ... ...
Haruhi's PS2 game is out in Japan for a few months I think. Took this picture cos I saw the game guide at Kinokuniya when I was camping for Comptiq Heroines and Megami.
Well, must always give face to Mikuru :D Buy the game and play and can get this pic I think!
Aya drewed a "new species" of the Haruhi series mascot.
Next up, is Nonaka Ai, seiyuu who voiced Fuuko. Hope they will interview the Seiyuu of Fujibayashi Kyou next (^_^)
H2O ~Footprints in the sand.
Compare and contrast the Anime (the 1st) and the game art (current). I'd say the Anime has better art, but the sauces seemed to have 1px gaussian blur sometimes...
By now, there's no doubt where Rosario + Vampire is heading for: typical harem story.
Noe from true tears. The story's starting to get very interesting now, with a complicated hexangonal relationship of sorts being established.
To Love Ru. Animated. Ecchi show that is created by the same Mangaka who made Black Cat. As tjhan once blogged, his stories are mostly crap, but the character designs are a beauty. I'm rooting for a Sairenji end, though Lala (or Rara?) is a nice person as well. (Or should I say, nice alien?) The manga is not even finished at this point of time, so either the studio will create content or the mangaka would have to work faster. Luckily there's about 80-90 chapters already published so I think it would not be a major concern.
I finally get it. Louise is an Anomaly in that Parallel World Saito fell into. Why? Simple. When 8 in 10 girls in that World are well endowed, Louise had to be an Anomaly.
And to solve the problem, I would suggest Louise to buy some "pan" enhancement potion or 2 from Mormonrency or Sir Cobett. With her affluence, she could had solved all her love problems easily, isnt it?
This is one of the rarer moments where the Japanese managed to make a good English phrase. The Art of Bamboo Blade has 2 meanings hidden in my opinion: 1, that is the artwork of Bamboo Blade Characters, as what the Magazine has shown, and 2, that is the art of mastering the Bamboo Blade, aka Kendo. Nice one.
Before the scans page, Comp H had a cardboard cutout page for us. It contains a 2 way dice, 2 bookmarks and a wish tag.
For the dice set, its obvious which side I would prefer to use. (=_=)||
Kyou and Ryou along with Botan. Note that Botan does not really like Ryou usually, though they are twins.
Bamboo Blade. Blader!
No rewards for guessing this is whose bubble thoughts.
Da Capo II. Sadly I only remember the chibi's surname is called Anzu, the reason being Anzu = 杏... XD
Well, for all ronery people, heres some love from Konata and Kagamin~
Took this shot because I went to kknm and had a look at both Alter and Max Factory's LOL! Fang-tan and was shocked to see that the Alter version was markly worse looking as compared to the Max one. And they sell for $4 more too!
KOTOKO. Sung the 2 EP and OP for Shakugan no Shana II. Good but not impressive... is she in a slump lately?
Now for some Shakugan no Shana seiyuus. Wirhelmina is cute looking in real life...
... so is Magery-san :)
No idea what is show is about but that pic is hawt :D
Chiihara Minori. Also known as Minorin~ ^_^. The Nanaka Character CD Songs are nice ^_^.
Wah. Hinagiku in 温泉 is O_O
And another seiyuu. She voices Kagamine Rin in the popular Vocal creator software VOCALOID.
And this 2 picture is for the OVA Tetsudo-Musume, aka Railway Girls. Apparently would be featuring the various types of trains in Japan along with some cultural heritages, I think.
And some news about Seiyuu concerts to end of this Issue's of Comp H. We have Makino Yui here in this picture. I think she sucks in singing, except the 2 songs she sung for NHK ni Youkoso! (Welcome to the NHK!) - Dark Side ni Tsuitekite and Modokashii Sekai no Ue de.
And the fabulous Mizuki Nana's concert which was held on Jan 3 this year. She has very good singing talent and great vocals to match as well. Though most of us would prefer her fast action songs over her ballads.
I want Hirano Aya's signature and Photo... ...
And some Lucky Star Posters to end of the post. Bleh... Content creation always takes up alot of time... took about 1-2 hours photoshooting them, then 6minutes to transfer the photos over, followed by 30mins of resizing and 2 hours straight of drafting here. Guess that means Megami and the Book in book will be shafted to later :X
