Rocky Balboa

Went today to Cathay Cineleisure to watch this movie called Rocky Balboa. Wanted to watch Letters from Iwo Jima but no tickets so we all went to watch this instead.

The movie starts out slow, centering on Rocky dealing with the loss of his wife and stuff. The movie, though, had some value to tell: life is about how much you can get hit and still stand up. This is a point drove home to the audience by the movie, especially when Rocky fought the current Reigning Wrestling Champion Mason Dixon, geting hit hundreds of times yet still trying hard to stand and counterattacking at times even. Even though he did lost the match by a small margin, he has already won in the hearts of many.

The movie, as usual with many pan-america movies, has a touch of America's old superman image as depicted in all those "hero" movies of the 70's and 80's. I can't really remember where did this happen but it was somewhere when Rocky is training and you'll see a Stars and Banners for a brief second.

(PS: I doubt I will learn from this though... me too pigheaded...)
