Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuuutsu Ep 2

Kyon is a guy who believes in aliens, time travellers, ghosts, demons, espers or evil organisations or comic books who battle them...through he knows all these doesn't exist.
Today is the day he went to high school. During the class introduction, Suzumiya Haruhi gave a shocking intro, saying that she's interested only in aliens, time travellers, ghosts, demons, espers or the likes of them.

Opening theme: Bokuen deshou deshou?

I like this song. Sung by Hirano Aya (Voices Suzumiya Haruhi. I prefer putting their surname before their name), the song is very lively and pleasing to the ears. ^^ The lyrics are rather easy to memorise also. The animation for the song is also very well rendered.

Apparently Haruhi is an oddball who does funny things in middle. As said by Taniguchi (classmate), she drew some huge pictograph in the school, drew stars on the roof of the school and stuck some talisman around her middle school. Kyon, however, wasn't listening, as he found Suzumiya Haruhi at the roof of the school throwing a ball at the dome of the school...

Also, she always rejected all her dates. The longest lasted a week and the shortest 5 minutes.

Seems like she has some funny traits too.

1. Her hair changes everyday in color and the number of plaits.

2. She regards men as potatoes, changing her clothes while the guys are still inside the classroom.(Though i dont mind that ^^)

3. She temorarily joined a lot of clubs, but in the she joined none. On a wednesday morning, Kyon decided to talk to Haruhi... He asked about her hair. She explained that colour-wise, Monday (Moon) = Yellow, Tuesday (Fire) = red, Wednesday (Water) = blue, Thursday (Wood) = green, Friday (Gold) = gold, Saturday (Earth) = light brown, Sunday (Sun) = white. As for the number of plaits, Monday = 0 and Sunday = 6. However, she cut her hair immediate after Kyon pointed it out.

After that, conversing with Haruhi became one of Kyon's daily event...His friends are surprised to see Haruhi talking. Soon, the class decided to change seats, by drawing lots. Kyon got a seat near the window. And Haruhi sat behind him, again... One day, Kyon was asking Haruhi about the clubs that she joined the the criteria she used. (She didn't join any in the end) Later, Kyon said that people invented things because someone wants something. And only a few person is capable of doing such a thing. In other words, geniuses made everything possible. This was greeted by a visibly angry Haruhi.

Later in their lesson, Haruhi suddenly pulled Kyon's chair and slam his head on the table. An angry Kyon stood up and asked her what happened. She wants to form a club!! (nice pic...mmm) Haruhi found a clubroom not long later. Its the old room for the literature club. The only remaining member, Nagato Yuki, doesn't seem to mind their presence. So, it became their clubroom...
Next day after school, Haruhi asked Kyon to go ahead while she go get someone. In a few monents, Haruhi returned with a cute girl called Asahina Mikuru.

Haruhi explained that in any show, moe elements are inportant. And look! Haruhi asked Mikuru to quit her current club. Surpirsingly, after Mikuru looked at Yuki, she agreed. And now, the club finally has a name! SOS-dan!

Singapore General Elections 2006

Finally, as of 27 April 2006, Singapore began its nomination day. And for the first time since 1988, the ruling party (People's Action Party) will not get returned to power.

The opposition contested in 47 seats (source: lianhe wanbao 27/4/06), targeting mainly on the east of Singapore. The two largest opposition here, namely the Workers Party and the Singapore Democratic Alliance, fielded 20 candidates each. The Singapore Democratic Party fielded 7.

Brief breakdown of news this past week.
1. Dr Chee Soon Juan, the CEC's and the SDP, were served lawyer letters from Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong and Minister Mentor Lee Kuan Yew for alledgedly defaming them in their newsletter, New Democrats. The refused to apologise by Tuesday 25April. The court has given the go-ahead for the case.

2. James Gomez form the WP seems to have "forgotten" to hand in his application for the minority candidate representation. Thus, the WP's contest in Aljunied might be jeopardised. (source: redbeanforum). And this appears to be his second time having forget to hand in some application papers.

3. The PAP refused to define what is considered a strong mandate, but from the Straits Times 27April 2006, the accepted mandate is between 60 to 65% of the majority vote. Senior Minister Goh Chok Tong also stressed that losing a GRC is a totally different matter than losing some single wards.

4. Soon after nominations have been approved, all major parties set about to putting election placards and slogans at lampposts, etc. By 4pm 27 April 2006, which is the time i was returning home form school, I can see WP and PAP placards lining the lampposts on my way home.

The above was written out from memory, and as such there might be errors. Please inform me if errors are found.

Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuuutsu - Ep1

This show is a must watch this season! I learnt
about this show from memento's blog. Everyone was giving reviews saying how great it was and the screen captures memento provided made me interested about the show. I'm now watching into episode 4 and though episode 1 did gave me a mild shock, there were no regrets watching it. Incoherent storyline, obvious NG, poor acting, and poor graphics and couldn't get any worse, eh? Introducing the Characters of this story -

Asahina Mikuru, Itsuki Koizumi and
Nagato Yuki. Written and directed by Suzumiya Haruhi. Menial tasks done by Kyon. ^^

The show went on 4 repeat scenes of Mikuru running on the streets, just to show off Mikuru's bouncing boobs.
Great idea by the director, eh. Thats quite some moe. Episode 1 to me, is rather dry until 2 minutes before the end of the anime. Introducing the real main character of the show: Suzumiya Haruhi!!

And I can't
believe this kind of video production is even acceptable for public view...-_- Moreover, Haruhi even said it was good. -_- I'm speechless, man.

Ending Theme - Sunny Sunshiny Happy.

Sung by the main characters of this show Suzumiya Haruhi, Yuki Nagato and Asahina Mikuru. I'll say that this song is actually quite pleasant to the ears. And the scenes here (for the ending theme, not the video made by SOS Dan) are also very well rendered, I'll say better than another production of Kyoto Animation, Fate/ Stay Night. Maybe what the other blogs said might be true - FSN suffered because of Suzumiya Haruhi?

Ergo Proxy - 01

Ergo Proxy is a very interesting anime. My first impression of it wasn't very good, but as the story goes on it bits of plot is slowly revealed to the viewer, and I got hooked on to it. I won't describe the story in great detail as my command of English isn't that great and moreover, don't want to spoil your viewing experiences too much. ^^
An unknown creature awakens from a long sleep...Strange events are happening in town... robots(known as Autoraves) are malfunctioning...
A strange claw print...
The scene changes to an Autorave driving a car, and he is talking to someone about the recent increase in Autorave Malfunctions due to the Cogito Virus.

Our main character - Real Mayer. Apparently, she's bored and stops Iggy (the previous Autorave) from chattering non-stop to her. As the car drives down the highway, she commented: "What a boring Utopia"During a routine search, the monster jumped onto her.She sensed the monster and managed to dodged the attack. (Side note - she's chio right? ^^)
Apparently, the statues can Talk! We now know that the monster's name is Proxy. But why is he kept asleep until now?As Real is inpsecting the imprint left behind by the monster, Iggy warns her that touching that is a voliation of the laws in this world. Talk about being controlled...
After along day, Real reaches home and prepares for a bath. But as she was about to bath,on the mirror, the words "Awakening" appeared written in blood...and a monster appeared infront of her.
Proxy appears and the two monsters fight each other. Real sits there in shock and probably fainted.
